objectivesThe Flagger Safety – Construction Work Zones Toolbox Talk from OSHA Education School is an introductory-level training which participants will discuss and work through the nature of flagger safety in construction work zones. More than 160 people are injured or killed every day from crashes in and around construction work zones, and it’s important to note that work zone flaggers remain the first line of defense for road construction workers and public protection in such scenarios.
In this course, participants will listen as Pete Rice, Certified Safety Professional (CSP), reviews construction work zone flagger safety, lending insight to this critical and dangerous job. Participants can expect to review crash zone statistics, as well as essential training required to become a flagger. Specific emphasis will be placed on California OSHA standards for work zone flaggers.
descriptionThe Toolbox Talk on Flagger Safety in Construction Work Zones is an introductory-level workshop in which participants will explore and work through the nature of flagger safety in construction work zones. Each day, over 160 people are wounded or killed in accidents in and near construction work zones, and it's critical to remember that work zone flaggers are the first line of defense for road construction workers and public safety in these situations. The participants in this session will listen as Pete Rice, a Certified Safety Professional (CSP), discusses construction work zone flagger safety, providing insight into this important and hazardous profession. Participants may anticipate reviewing crash zone data and receiving the necessary training to become a flagger. A special focus will be put on California OSHA's work zone flagger requirements.
You must score at least 70% to pass this OSHA training. You will be given up to THREE opportunities to pass the quizzes and final exam.
Failure to pass quizzes and the final exam will result in being locked out of this online training program, but the learner can repurchase and start back from the beginning.
Upon completing this Flagger Safety- Construction Work Zones Toolbox Talk and the accompanying survey, you will receive an OSHA card from the provider of this OSHA training on behalf of the Department of Labor.
Students who successfully complete the program will receive a completion card issued by the U.S. Department of Labor.
