descriptionThe Respirable Crystalline Silica Awareness for General Industry safety course is an introductory-level online course that teaches learners the basic components of OSHA's respirable crystalline silica standard, as defined in 29 CFR 1910.1053. Participants may expect to learn about the fundamental health risks associated with respirable crystalline silica, common activities that may result in exposure, and viable control measures that companies can take to safeguard employees. Respirable Crystalline Silica Awareness for General Industry is meant to provide participants with a comprehensive and up-to-date awareness of silica dust and the risk factors connected with it.
You must score at least 70% to pass this OSHA training. You will be given up to THREE opportunities to pass the quizzes and final exam.
Failure to pass quizzes and the final exam will result in being locked out of this online training program, but the learner can repurchase and start back from the beginning.
Upon completing this Respiratory Protection Awareness For General Industry and the accompanying survey, you will receive an OSHA card from the provider of this OSHA training on behalf of the Department of Labor.
Students who successfully complete the program will receive a completion card issued by the U.S. Department of Labor.

Benefits Upon completion of this course, participants will have gained a heightened awareness of respiratory protection. This includes when and why to use respirators, who requires further respirator training, and when medical evaluations need to occur. Participants will have also learned how to properly wear and use a respirator. Completion of this course alone does not permit an employee to wear a respirator, supplemental actions, such as medical evaluations and respiratory fit testing must also be completed.
Moreover, course participants will have become familiarized with OSHA’s respirator standards, as well as the basics of breathing volume and air quality monitoring. Finally, taking only 25 minutes to complete, participants can take this course from the comfort of their own home and without disrupting their work schedules.
